CAPE TOWN (CONVERSEER) – President Cyril Ramaphosa is set to deliver the State of the Nation Address (SONA) in Cape Town on Thursday, where he is expected to outline government’s programme of action to tackle high unemployment, crime, economic growth and job creation.

The address comes at a critical time as South Africa enters a local government election cycle under a Government of National Unity, formed following the 2024 national elections.

With mounting pressure on the economy, service delivery and local governance, Ramaphosa’s speech is expected to set the tone for government priorities in the year ahead and reassure the public amid growing socio-economic challenges.
