Ahead of the 2024 Local Government elections billed for 5th October 2024, as announced by the Akwa Ibom State Independent Electoral Commission (AKISIEC) as well as the timeline of activities for the conduct of PDP Congresses released by the National Headquarters of the Party, the State Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Akwa Ibom State, has approved the following timeline of activities:
Wednesday, 24th July 2024 – Submission of Forms for Councillorship Aspirants
Wednesday, 24th July 2024 – Sales of Nomination and Expression of Interest forms for Chairmanship Aspirants
Thursday, 25th July 2024 – Submission of Forms for Chairmanship Aspirants
Friday, 26th July 2024 – Screening of Councillorship and Chairmanship Aspirants
Saturday, 27th July 2024 – Ward Congresses
Monday, 29th July 2024 – Publication of List of Successful Aspirants

Friday, 2nd August 2024 – Ward Congresses Appeal Panel sits
Saturday, 3rd August 2024 – Chairmanship Nomination
Monday, 5th August 2024 – Appeal Panel sits to hear complaint(s) over Chairmanship Nomination
