The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a pastor identified as Elijah, over alleged homosexuality.

Elijah, the General Overseer of a new-generation church in Port Harcourt, was arrested after videos of him engaging in homosexual acts were leaked to the police by a male acquaintances named Patrick.

A  source said that Patrick, who had been the target of the General Overseer’s advances, reportedly played along and captured nude videos of the pastor as evidence.

“We don’t know how the Octopus Strike Force of the Rivers State Police Command got hold of the video, but they began tracking the pastor. Eventually, acting on credible intelligence, officers trailed him to one of his regular hangouts and arrested him,” the source said.

It was gathered that during interrogation, the cleric allegedly made confessional statements about his involvement in similar activities with both adults and minors within and outside Port Harcourt.

Spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the arrest, stating that the suspect had been arraigned in court.

“Yes, I can confirm the pastor’s arrest. He is in custody, and investigations are ongoing. In fact, he has already been charged to court,” the PPRO added.
