A new heir has emerged on the football pitch, with Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. producing an impressive performance for Al-Nassr’s U-17 side.
The teenager scored twice before recreating his father’s iconic celebration.
As footage of the performance continues to circulate around the world, it offers another striking reminder of the similarities between the legendary footballer and his son, who appears to be carrying some of his father’s qualities into the next generation.
The 16-year-old Ronaldo Jr. scored both goals as Al-Nassr U-17 came from behind to beat Al-Ahli Jeddah U-17 2-1 on September 20, 2026.
His father later shared clips of the performance on social media, using clapping and star-struck emojis to celebrate his son’s display.
Al-Ahli made the brighter start and took the lead in the seventh minute when Marwan Abdullah Al-Muwallad headed the ball into the net from a free-kick.
Ronaldo Jr. responded just five minutes later, producing an impressive individual effort to bring Al-Nassr level.
The teenager received the ball around the halfway line before immediately driving forward into the space ahead of him.
He used his pace to get away from two defenders, rounded the advancing goalkeeper and calmly placed the ball into an empty net, showing impressive composure to complete the difficult move.
Ronaldo Jr. scored his second goal shortly before half-time, around the 44th minute. Once again, he relied on his pace to create space before controlling the ball and firing a low right-footed shot from the edge of the box into the far corner.
Following both goals, Ronaldo Jr. recreated his father’s famous “Siuuu” celebration.
He jumped and turned before landing with his arms stretched out, just as Cristiano Ronaldo has done throughout his career.
The familiar celebration quickly became one of the most widely shared parts of the footage, adding another moment to the growing “like father, like son” story surrounding the teenager.
The celebration has a long-standing connection with Cristiano Ronaldo. The senior Ronaldo first performed the now-famous celebration in August 2013 after scoring for Real Madrid against Chelsea during a pre-season match in Miami.
Ronaldo Jr. has now adopted the same celebration as he continues to develop his own identity at youth level.
The highlights from the match also displayed qualities beyond his goals, including his acceleration, direct running, ability to carry the ball and confidence when taking on defenders.
Cristiano Ronaldo was not present at the match but kept a close eye on his son’s performance. After the game, he shared amateur footage of both goals on his Instagram Stories, publicly celebrating another milestone in Ronaldo Jr.’s development.
The younger Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr’s youth academy in 2023 after previously spending time in the academies of Juventus and Manchester United.
He has since progressed through the club’s various age groups before moving up to the U-17 side, where he has continued to attract attention for his physical development and attacking qualities.
His father has previously spoken about the teenager’s progress and the importance of his mentality. “He’s a good kid. Honest, a good kid,” the 41-year-old said in a clip shared by Netflix Sports.
He went on to explain that his son was already bigger and stronger than he had been at the same age.
“When I was his age, he is a little bit bigger and stronger. I was smaller. I think he will be bigger than me…” Ronaldo added. He also stressed that physical attributes alone would not determine his son’s future, saying that “hunger is the most difficult.”
The brace is likely to generate fresh speculation about Ronaldo Jr.’s future in senior football, particularly given that his father remains an important figure at Al-Nassr.
Some fans have already imagined the possibility of the pair eventually playing together, although the teenager’s development remains the main priority at this stage.
Ronaldo Jr. is still only 16, meaning he has plenty of time to continue developing his game before any decision about senior football becomes necessary.
Reports have also suggested that a future move to Europe could be considered, meaning a first-team appearance alongside his father should be viewed as a possibility rather than an expectation.
For now, the teenager can concentrate on continuing his development with Al-Nassr’s youth setup.
