Security agents on Saturday rescued three kidnapped persons in Anambra State.
The spokesman for the state police command, Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the news in a statement in Onitsha.
He said the victims were rescued by a combined team of police operatives and men of the Joint Security Task Force (JTF) along the Onitsha-Owerri Expressway in Ozubulu, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of the state.
He added that the state’s Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu, has directed operatives to intensify efforts to apprehend the perpetrators.

The spokesman assured the public that security operations would be sustained to deny criminals the opportunity to wreak havoc in the state.
He said: “The Joint Security Team, in a coordinated operation on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 7:20 a.m., successfully rescued three kidnapped victims along the Onitsha-Owerri Expressway in Ozubulu.
“The victims were immediately rushed to the hospital for medical attention due to the injuries inflicted on them by their abductors.
“They are currently responding to treatment and will be debriefed by the police once they are stable.”
