Security man arrested after video captured him dumping refuse in gutter

A 56-year-old man, Mr. John Ehidreme, has been arrested for allegedly dumping refuse into a drainage channel at No. 18 Oluoga, Ikorodu.

In a video posted on X, the man who seemed like a security guard is seen dumping the refuse in a drainage channel in front of a school, De-Young Comprehensive College.

The Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources in the state, Tokunboh Wahab who revealed this wrote, “The Lagos State Government reiterates that indiscriminate waste disposal is a violation of environmental laws, as it obstructs drainage channels, contributes to flooding, and poses significant public health and environmental risks.

“Residents are urged to dispose of waste responsibly and use only approved waste management facilities”.
