Singer Tems Secures Second Grammy Award in the U.S.

Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi popularly known as Tems has emerged as the winner of the Best African Music Performance category at the 67th Grammy awards in the United States.

Tem’s song titled: “Love Me Jeje,” was adjudged as the winner of the category after she saw off other strong nominees including; Burna Boy’s “Higher,” Asake’s MMS, Yemi Alade’s “Tomorrow” and Chris Brown’s “Sensational” featuring Davido and Lojay.

This is the second time that the sensation singer is going home with a Grammy award following her first award for her contribution to the hit single “Wait For U’” waxed by American rapper Future.

Moments after Tems emerged as the winner of the Best African Music Performance category at the music awards staged at Los Angeles on Sunday night, Davido and Ayra Starr took to X (formerly Twitter) to react to the singer’s feat.

In his post on the social media platform, Davido congratulated Tems and also sent a warm message to his friend, Chris Brown for winning the Best R&B album category.

“Congratulations to my one and only G.O.A.T @chrisbrown. And to my queen @temsbaby. We are proud of you.” Davido wrote on X.

In her message to Tems on X, Ayra Starr wrote: “Temssbabyyyyyyy. Congratulations my love.”
