By Joe Udo

SOKOTO (CONVERSEER) – The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General, Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has declared Monday, December 22, 2025, as the First Day of Rajab 1447AH.

The declaration was contained in a statement signed by the Wazirin Sokoto, Professor Sambo Wali Junaidu, who is also the Chairman of the Sultanate Council Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs.

It says the Committee, in conjunction with the National Moon Sighting Committee, did not receive any report confirming the sighting of the Crescent Moon of Rajab from any part of the Country on Saturday, December 20, 2025, corresponding to the 29th of Jumada Assaniya 1447 AH.
