A 49-year-old taxi driver was arrested by traffic officers from the Attica Highway Police Department for driving under the influence, authorities said on Saturday morning.

The driver was also charged with driving without a valid license and dangerous driving. Authorities observed the suspect on the Attiki Odos highway near Koropi, performing dangerous maneuvers and failing to maintain a safe distance from other vehicles.

Upon stopping the taxi, officers discovered that the driver’s license had been revoked just days earlier due to a speeding violation. Further investigation revealed the driver was under the influence of alcohol. He was issued fines for driving while intoxicated and for speeding violations.
