A Nigerian businesswoman, Anthonia Umerah, has recalled when some people tried to discourage her from renting a 2 bedroom apartment and buying a car because, according to them, it would reduce her chances of getting married.
“When I wanted to rent the 2bedroom flat I live in, few acquaintances tried to discourage me from renting the 2bedroom house because according to them, I am a single lady and 2bedroom flat is too much for a single single lady. One told me living in 2bedroom house will scare men away from me. lol,” she wrote in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
I ignored all of them and still rented the 2bedroom house because I had so much plans and intentions to expand my business and for me to achieve the expansion I need, I need enough space to be storing my products.
Fast forward to now, my visitors room, my walkways and my dinning area is filled up with goods!
In life, have a mind of yourself! I don’t know why people make every conversation about a single woman revolve around male validation.
One also told me that when I wanted to buy my first car. She told me not to buy a car because men will run from me. Lol. I have been driving for 2yrs now, if I tell you the things and comfort my car has helped me to achieve ehh? I function better when I am comfortable. Dear lord, I am grateful.
