Thousands defects to PDP as Lawmakers dole out N62m for constituents in C’River North

Thousands of members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Labour Party, LP, All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, and other political parties, have defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Northern Cross River State.

CONVERSEER learned that the defectors were received on Saturday, 30 March in Ogoja by the Cross River State PDP Chairman, Barr. Vena Ikem and other party leaders.

The defectors expressed their confidence and satisfaction with PDP in Cross River State, especially in Cross River North.

The PDP chairman and the lawmakers from the Senatorial District welcomed the defectors and assured them of more development in the district.

In the spirit of Easter, the PDP National Assembly Members from Cross River North, including Senator Jarigbe Agom, Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District; Hon. Godwin Offiono, Member representing Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency and Hon. Peter Akpanke, member representing Obudu/Bekwarra/Obanliku federal Constituency, distributed the sum of Sixty two million naira (N62 million), for Easter celebrations in the Senatorial district.

Each of the 54 wards of the Senatorial District got the sum of N1 million, totalling N54 million, defectors and others, shared N8 million.

Also, the Party leaders held a meeting with stakeholders at Gomara Hotel in Ogoja, as part of its post-election activities.

The leaders and stakeholders assured party members of their continuous commitment to the party.
