Tompolo rallies behind Tinubu for 2027, tells Nigeria: “Let Him Finish the Job!”

PORT HARCOURT – Former militant leader and Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has thrown his weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election campaign for 2027.

Speaking during an interview on Arise Television yesterday, Tompolo said it would be unjust to demand a shift of power to the North after former President Muhammadu Buhari’s eight years in office. He urged Nigerians to support Tinubu to complete his two constitutional terms.

“We don’t want anybody to cause problems. He should be allowed to complete his two constitutional terms, then we will vote for another person to take over in 2031,” he stated.

Tompolo praised Tinubu’s leadership experience and revealed plans to launch a nationwide campaign, including outreach to northern states, to rally support for the president’s second term. He also disclosed that traditional rulers across the South-South region have endorsed Tinubu’s re-election bid.

“The President has what it takes to elevate Nigeria. We will go even to the North to campaign for his second tenure,” Tompolo added.

He further expressed optimism that the political rift between Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, would be resolved, citing Tinubu’s long-standing commitment to democracy.

In a related development, the Yoruba Youth Socio-Cultural Association (YYSA) has urged former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to reject calls to join opposition forces seeking to challenge Tinubu’s re-election.

In a statement issued yesterday in Ibadan, YYSA National President, Olalekan Hammed, described Kwankwaso as a major political figure who should not associate with what he termed a “weak coalition.”

“The coalition lacks the strength needed to dislodge the ruling party in 2027. It is not comparable to the strategic alliance that unseated former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015,” Hammed said.

According to him, genuine coalitions involve mergers of major parties across regions, not gatherings of disgruntled politicians led by the likes of Atiku Abubakar and Nasir el-Rufai.

As the political landscape begins to heat up ahead of 2027, key endorsements and alliances are rapidly taking shape, signaling a fiercely competitive election season ahead.
