A traditional ruler in Ajerogun community in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, Chief Nurudeen Salisu has cried out for help, saying kidnappers have invaded the community, killed some residents, and abducted others.
According to the community leader, the attackers were allegedly targeting a white man working around the riverbank, who escaped by diving into the river while soldiers attached to his security detail tried to protect him.
The incident reportedly left one soldier dead and another injured, while several people were taken away by the attackers.
The community leader said a similar incident occurred in 2023, prompting residents to increase security around the area, making the latest attack a major setback for the community.
