Manchester United have pulled the plug on their proposed move for Atalanta midfielder, Ederson.
The Premier League has taken the decision, after fresh injury concerns prompted them to arrange a more thorough medical examination this week.
Doubts have emerged over Ederson’s recent meniscus injury and the possibility of longer-term knee issues.
United will now pursue alternative midfield targets.
Football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, wrote on X: “More on Éderson deal off exclusive story.
“Atalanta are ready to welcome back their midfielder believing he’s fully fit and ready to play.
“Manchester United will still sign at least another midfielder after Andrey Santos.”
