Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have disrupted the logistics of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) after recovering improvised explosive device (IED) materials, medical supplies and drugs in Borno State.

The recovery was made during a clearance operation in the Kareto general area of the state on Sunday.

The development was contained in a post shared on X by security analyst Zagazola Makama on Sunday.

According to the report, troops of 5 Brigade, working with hybrid forces, moved into the area at about 10 am after receiving credible intelligence that ISWAP fighters were operating in the location.

The troops reportedly encountered suspected terrorists during the operation.

However, the terrorists were said to have retreated after sighting the advancing troops and allied forces.

“The recovered items included materials suspected to be used in making IEDs, as well as a large quantity of medical supplies and drugs believed to have been intended for ISWAP fighters,” Makama stated.

The operation is part of ongoing efforts by Operation HADIN KAI to prevent terrorist groups from establishing bases and maintaining their supply lines in the North-East.
