Trump Admin Hails ‘Freedom Fuel’ Stations Offering Gas Fifty Cents More Than It Was When Iran War Began

The first Freedom Fuel Network gas station opened amid gas prices still significantly higher than they were before the Iran war broke out.

One of 25 gas stations opened yesterday in Philadelphia offering gas for $3.47 — 33 cents lower than the national average — which the White House said was in honor of President Donald Trump being the 47th U.S. leader. However, the national average gas price was $2.98 two days before the Operation Epic Fury was announced in February, according to the American Automobile Association (AAA).

“The FIRST Freedom Fuel Network gas station has LANDED in Philadelphia, lowering the price at the pump to $3.47 for our 47th President,” the White House wrote on X on Tuesday.

The roughly five-week closure of the Strait of Hormuz during Operation Epic Fury disrupted a critical global shipping lane through which about 20% of the world’s oil passes, tightening supply and driving up energy prices.

A White House spokesperson told the Daily Caller News Foundation that the administration is “not involved in the company” and has not “given the company any funding.”

The average price of gas is $3.80 per gallon, according to data released by the AAA. This is a decrease of 13 cents from $3.93 per gallon in late June.

“There is no other entity or person subsidizing the lower gasoline costs,” the White House spokesperson added. “They are simply reducing their margin to make prices at the pump more affordable for drivers in Philadelphia and New Jersey. This retailer is taking the lead, others should follow.”

Leading up to the reveal of the new gas station network Trump pressured gas stations to lower prices to $2.50 per gallon in a June 29 Truth Social Post.

Currently there are 25 stations within the network with the first one opening in Philadelphia according to the Freedom Fuel website. These stations will be located in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
