Trump Announces British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s Resignation

President Donald Trump on Sunday announced British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will step down from his top position in the UK government of almost two years amid growing political pressure and a perceived loss of confidence.

The increased pressure for Starmer to step down follows the Tuesday release by Restore Britain Member of Parliament Rupert Lowe of the “Rape Gang Inquiry Report,” which states 250,000 girls were raped by Muslim “grooming gangs” in the United Kingdom. The fallout did not spare Starmer, a former head of the Crown Prosecution Service. While Starmer, at the time of writing, has not publicly confirmed his resignation, Trump posted about the 63-year-old Labour leader’s rumored departure Sunday on Truth Social.

“Keir Starmer will resign as Prime Minister of The United Kingdom. He failed badly on two very important subjects- IMMIGRATION AND ENERGY (OPEN NORTH SEA OIL!). I wish him well!” Trump posted.

Rumors of Starmer’s potential resignation increased in the days after Andy Burnham won a by-election after promising to launch an intra-party challenge to Starmer. The British Foreign Office did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Starmer’s anticipated departure from office follows his increasing unpopularity since assuming office in July 2024, having nearly been forced out after files pertaining to registered sex offender Jeffrey Epstein were released in January. The files revealed the registered sex offender’s close ties to Peter Mandelson, Starmer’s hand-picked ambassador to the United States. While Starmer claimed Mandelson misled him about his links to Epstein, the revelations led to the Reform Party sweeping local council elections.

The Lowe report states that “predominantly Muslim Pakistani gangs across towns and cities throughout the United Kingdom” engaged in the “systematic targeting” of predominately white girls.

“Across Britain, clear evidence of organised abuse by Pakistani gangs, among other majority-Muslim ethnic groups, was ignored because confronting it risked accusations of racism,” the Lowe report continues.
