Trump Revokes Biden's Sanctions on Israeli West Bank Settlers

Trump Signs Executive Order to Withdraw the U.S. from the UN Human Rights Council

The United States President, Donald Trump, on Tuesday signed an Executive Order on the withdrawal of the country from the United Nations (UN) Human Rights Council.

The order automatically withdrew America from the UN’s Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

former President Joe Biden stopped funding of UNRWA in January last year after Israel accused the agency staff of taking part in the October 2023 Hamas attack on Jerusalem.

He also ordered a review of U.S. involvement in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).

Trump, who signed the Executive Order at the White House in Washington, charged the UN to be fair to countries that need “fairness.”

He said: “I always felt the UN has always had tremendous potential but it’s not living up to its potential.”
