Trump’s Annexation Wishlist: Panama Canal, Greenland, Canada and Mexico

New York, U.S. – Have you ever wondered what’s in President-elect Donald Trump’s annexation wishlist? The Panama Canal, Greenland and even Canada: his bold ideas for expanding America’s borders are turning heads.

Let’s dive into the details below:

1. Panama Canal

Bringing it back home? Trump wants the Panama Canal returned, calling its 1999 handover a “token of cooperation.”

After Panama’s president firmly rejected the idea, Trump replied, “We’ll see about that!” Meanwhile, Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro backed Panama’s sovereignty, slamming Trump’s remarks.

2. Greenland

Real estate or geopolitics? Trump’s dream of buying Greenland is back! He says it’s vital for “national security and freedom,” but is it about resources or missiles?

Even Elon Musk wrote, “Congrats! Help America gain Greenland.” A Trump Tower in the Arctic, anyone?

3. Canada

The 51st State? In December, Trump suggested Canada could become the 51st US state to avoid tariffs and gain military protection.

His post read: “Many Canadians want this… I think it’s a great idea. 51st state!!!” Canadians, unsurprisingly, didn’t seem thrilled.

4. Mexico

Subsidised to statehood? On December 8, Trump floated the idea of Mexico becoming a US state during an interview on Meet the Press.

Claiming the US “subsidises” Mexico by $300 billion annually, he said, “If we’re going to subsidise them, let them become a state.”
