Galatasaray midfielder, Gabriel Sara, has referred to Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen as his “biggest enemy,” while emphasizing the strong friendship they have developed in anticipation of the 2026/2027 season.

Osimhen has emerged as a pivotal player at the Turkish club since his initial loan from Napoli, which transitioned into a permanent transfer last summer.

The Nigerian international has had an impressive time at Rams Park, netting 59 goals and contributing 16 assists in 74 matches across all competitions.

The prolific forward has also been instrumental in Galatasaray’s recent achievements, aiding the Yellow-Reds in clinching consecutive Super Lig titles and a domestic cup victory, while positioning himself as a leader within the team.

Despite Osimhen’s significance to the squad, Sara disclosed that their camaraderie is characterized by playful teasing and mutual admiration, with the two frequently engaging in light-hearted banter.

In an interview with Le Marca Sports, the Brazilian midfielder provided a humorous take on his relationship with the Nigerian striker.

“Osimhen is my biggest enemy,” Sara said. “We are merely joking; the level of competition and friendship between us is quite high. I get annoyed with him, but he is a very good friend of mine.”

Osimhen, who participated in Galatasaray’s pre-season loss to Venezia on Monday, is still on the hunt for his first goal of the summer and will be looking to regain his scoring prowess in the upcoming friendly against Villarreal.

As the new season approaches, the Super Eagles striker is keen to achieve full fitness and maintain the exceptional form that has established him as one of Galatasaray’s most impactful players over the last two years.
