Two siblings, Umar Muhammad,7 and Ibrahim Muhammad, 9, have drowned in an excavation site commonly referred to as a paddock at Udege Mbeki in the Nasarawa Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
A statement issued by the Chairman of Afo Youth Mobility (AYM), Barrister Dauda Yahaya Kana, said the victims drowned in the paddock, which had seen a significant rise in water levels due to recent rainfall.
According to the statement, the incident occurred earlier on Thursday, April 17, 2025, after the children followed their cousin to the site, where she had gone to wash clothes.
