A two-term member of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Wilson Ekpenyong, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

Ekpenyong who recently resigned from the PDP, joined the APC at the weekend in Odukpani amidst cheers.

He was received by the Leader of the Cross River State House Of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Francis Asuquo; Chapter Chairman of APC in Odukpani, Mr Edem Anam; and the APC Zonal Special Leader, Chief Edet Asia, amongst others.

Speaking during the declaration, he said his action is informed by the “enormous transformation witnessed in the past few months of His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Otu-led Government in the state, hence my decision to support him for more.”

The highlight of the event includes the presentation of the APC membership slip to Ekpenyong by the ward Chairman, Mr Ekpo Okon Ekpenyong.
