Former Chief of Staff to a former Imo State Governor and President of the Ugwumba Leadership Centre for Africa, Uche Nwosu, has bagged a prestigious leadership award in the United States as the City of East Orange, New Jersey, unveiled a strategic partnership with the Ugwumba Centre in Imo State.
The partnership, coordinated by the Ugwumba Centre for Leadership, is designed to deepen leadership training, human capacity development and sustainable community growth between Nigeria and the United States.
At a ceremony hosted by the Mayor of Ted Green, Nwosu received the City of East Orange’s Award for Outstanding Leadership and Human Capacity Development and was decorated with the official City Pin in recognition of his contributions to leadership development.
Speaking after the honour, Nwosu described the award as a call to greater service and expressed appreciation to the mayor and the people of East Orange for the warm reception accorded to his delegation.
He said the partnership would serve as a bridge for knowledge exchange, leadership development and economic opportunities that would benefit both communities.
“This collaboration is about building lasting relationships that will empower people, strengthen institutions and create sustainable opportunities for future generations,” he said.
Nwosu was accompanied by Engr. Kings Umege, Hon. Chief Sir Engr. Ewhoma Tony Okpokparoro (Oilmoney), Prince Anozie Ugenyi and Engr. Kizito Umege.
The agreement is expected to promote stronger Nigeria-US cooperation through leadership initiatives, capacity building and community development programmes.
