Bayern Munich sealed a 3-0 first leg victory over rivals Bayer Leverkusen in their Champions League round of 16 tie on Wednesday night.

Harry Kane scored twice for the home side while Jamal Musiala was also on target as Bayern cruised in a highly-contested encounter.

The visitors went down to 10 men after a second yellow for Nordi Mukiele just past the hour mark.

Kane’s second was a penalty, and he successfully converted the kick to raise his tally to 31 goals this season.

The second leg at BayArena will take place on Tuesday, and the Bundesliga champions will be hoping to turn things around as they look to reach the quarterfinals.

Elsewhere, Liverpool pipped Paris St-Germain 1-0 in Paris despite the home side dominating the game.

PSG completely dominated the game, with 27 shots, and Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson had to make nine saves.

But the hosts could not find an opener – and the Reds scored with their second shot of the night in the 87th minute through Harvey Elliott.

In Portugal, Raphinha was once again Barcelona’s hero as they claimed a narrow win over Benfica in the first leg of their tie, despite going down to 10 men.

Raphinha also came to the rescue for five-time winners Barca in January when the two sides met in the league group phase, scoring a 96th-minute winner in a nine-goal thriller.

Elsewhere, Feyenoord were beaten 2-0 by visiting Inter Milan.
