Umo Eno announces N1.04bn bonus for Civil Servants

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has announced N1.04 billion bonus for the state’s 52,000 Civil Servants to mark the 2024 Public Service Week.

CONVERSEER learned that the bonus, totalling N20,000 per worker, will be paid in the first week of July.

Speaking at a thanksgiving service to conclude the week-long celebration, Governor Eno expressed appreciation for the harmonious working relationship with the state’s workforce and their support of the ARISE Agenda.

He commended the Head of Civil Service, Elder Effiong Essien, for his integrity and prudence.

The Governor also encouraged workers to utilise the “Farm Days” initiative to contribute to the state’s food sufficiency.

He announced plans to upgrade the Civil Service Training Centre and partner with IBOM LED and ASCON for training senior Civil Servants.

The Head of Civil Service, Elder Effiong Essien, thanked the Governor for hosting the Public Service Week and acknowledged the favourable working conditions under the current administration.

The event featured a sermon by Pastor Ime N. George, emphasising the importance of gratitude, and the presentation of Awards of Recognition to the State Chief Judge, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, and the Governor for creating a conducive work atmosphere.
