President Donald Trump immediately ended the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s controversial CBP One app on Monday, as the agency’s website quickly changed while the 47th president was sworn into office.

According to Fox 26, the CBP One app was used by the Biden-Harris administration to allow over 900,000 migrants into the United States. The outlet noted that migrants were able to enter the United States by using the app to schedule asylum claim appointments.

Following Trump’s inauguration on Monday, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s website was updated to state, “Effective January 20, 2025, the functionalities of CBP One that previously allowed undocumented aliens to submit advance information and schedule appointments at eight southwest border ports of entry is no longer available, and existing appointments have been canceled.”

A picture of the notification on the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s website was shared on X, formerly Twitter, by Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin.

According to The Post Millennial, migrants applying for asylum in the United States through the CBP One app were not required to present verified documents for identification.

The House Homeland Security Committee previously released a review of the app, warning, “95.8 percent of all inadmissible aliens who scheduled appointments through the app during this time were ultimately issued a ‘Notice to Appear’ (NTA) and released into the United States on parole” in 2023.

During a Senate confirmation hearing last week, Gov. Kristi Noem (R-S.D.) confirmed that the CBP One app would be terminated on the first day of the Trump administration.

“On day one, CBP One will be shut down,” Noem said.

A video shared by Arelis R. Hernández, a Washington Post reporter, shows the reaction of migrants who had been “waiting for their 1 pm CBP1 parole appointments” after learning that “the app has shut down & those appointments are no longer valid.” A migrant can be seen crying in the video.

During Trump’s inaugural address on Monday, the 47th president pledged to end the unprecedented level of illegal immigration that occurred under the Biden-Harris administration.

“I will declare a national emergency at our southern border,” Trump said. “All illegal entry will be immediately halted and we will begin the process of returning millions and millions of criminal aliens back to the places from which they came.”
