Amstel Malta has congratulated Nigeria’s Super Falcons on their commanding 6-2 victory over Egypt, describing the performance as a fitting reward for the team’s resilience and determination after a difficult start to their 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) campaign.

The holders produced an attacking masterclass to seal their place in the quarter-finals, where they will face familiar rivals Cameroon.

The result completed an impressive turnaround for the Super Falcons, who bounced back from an opening defeat to Malawi with consecutive victories over Zambia and Egypt to book their place in the knockout stage.

Amstel Malta also celebrated the contribution of its brand ambassador, Asisat Oshoala, who opened the scoring from the penalty spot, setting the tone for Nigeria’s dominant display. Goals from Gift Monday, Uchenna Kanu, Christy Ucheibe, captain Rasheedat Ajibade and Joy Omewa completed an emphatic win.

Reacting to the performance, Senior Brand Manager, Amstel Malta, Francis Obiajulu, commended the players for their character and commitment.

“We congratulate the Super Falcons on a fantastic victory and qualification for the quarter-finals. The way the team responded after the opening setback reflects the spirit of champions. They have shown resilience, unity and belief, and Nigerians are proud of what they have achieved so far.”

Obiajulu also commended Oshoala for once again leading from the front.

“We are delighted to see our brand ambassador, Asisat Oshoala, among the goals again. Her experience, leadership and consistency continue to inspire the team and millions of football fans across the country.”

He added that the performance reflected the values behind Amstel Malta’s ‘Be Your Best’ campaign.

“The journey to success is not always straightforward, but the Super Falcons have shown that with determination and hard work, setbacks can be turned into opportunities. That is the message behind ‘Be Your Best’, and we are pleased to see the team embody those values.”

With Cameroon awaiting in the quarter-finals on Sunday, Obiajulu urged the players to remain focused.

“The job is far from over. Every match from this stage becomes even more demanding, but we have confidence in the quality, experience and winning mentality of this team. We wish the Super Falcons the very best as they continue their quest for another WAFCON title.”

Amstel Malta reaffirmed its support for the Super Falcons as they continue their title defence, expressing confidence that the team has the quality to go even further in the tournament and continue making Nigerians proud.
