A woman on X has shared how her father raised her to have qualities that he would not tolerate in his wife, her mother.
She took to X to share how her father brought her up amid conversations about men wanting their wives to be timid and submissive, yet raising their daughters to be assertive.
She wrote: “My dad tells me ‘You can be whatever you want to be, don’t let any man stop you, I am here and I will defend you’
But let my mom do something she wants, he will pick a fight with her.
“When my mom took a job as a typist, my dad traveled to the village to report to her to her dad.
“A suitor complained to my dad that he took me out and I refused to eat fish and that it’s wrong because I should like what he liked and my dad nearly beat that man up that day.
“He reminded the man that I was a human being as well.
“These men know that they won’t tolerate what they did to their wives if I happened to their daughters, but they still do it because to them, their wife is not their family.”
Her tweet was in reaction to a tweet by a male X user whose daughter in S.S. 3 went viral for her professional achievements.
The man proudly revealed that the impressive teen is his daughter.
This led X users to dig up old tweets where he was calling out feminists. They told him he’s raising his daughter to be assertive while calling out other assertive women.
