World Cup final: Lamine Yamal makes history after Spain beat Argentina

Spain winger, Lamine Yamal, on Sunday, made history after his team defeated Argentina in the World Cup final.

Yamal featured as Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 in New Jersey to lift the World Cup.

His teammate Ferran Torres scored the only goal of the match in extra time.

According to OptaJoe, the 19-year-old is the first player to have played in both a UEFA European Championship final and a FIFA World Cup final as a teenager.

Yamal won the UEFA European Championship two years ago after he featured in Spain’s 2-1 win against England.

The Barcelona winger is now viewed as the top favourite to win the Ballon d’Or this year.

He came second in the Ballon d’Or ranking behind Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembele last year.
