This is the market Xiaomi is targeting with the Redmi 17, its latest smartphone scheduled to launch in Nigeria on September 1.
The device comes with a 7,500mAh battery, as the company seeks to meet the demands of consumers who rely on their smartphones for communication, entertainment, work, social media and online learning.
The battery capacity is considerably higher than the 5,000mAh capacity commonly found in smartphones, reflecting the growing competition among manufacturers around battery life.
Xiaomi is pairing the larger battery with 45W Turbo Charging, while the device also supports 22.5W wired reverse charging, which allows users to transfer power to compatible devices.
According to Xiaomi’s Africa specifications, the Redmi 17 can provide up to 91 hours of music playback, while 35 minutes of charging can provide up to a day’s use under the company’s stated test conditions. (Mi)
