From Shafa’atu Suleiman, Sokoto

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has called on Nigerians to uphold unity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence as the country approaches another electoral season.

Yilwatda made the call in his Eid-ul-Maulid message to Muslims across Nigeria and around the world, urging Nigerians to draw inspiration from the virtues of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.

The APC chairman said the commemoration of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad provides an opportunity for Nigerians to reflect on values capable of promoting healing, unity and renewed hope at a challenging moment in the nation’s journey.

He urged Nigerians to see the country’s diversity as a source of strength rather than weakness, stressing that political differences should not be allowed to destroy the bonds of brotherhood and national unity.

“As we approach another electoral season, we must reject division, intolerance and violence. No political contest should destroy the bonds of brotherhood and national unity that bind us together.”

He expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future, saying that despite the challenges confronting the country, the nation remains endowed with immense talent, resilience and promise.

The APC national chairman prayed that Almighty Allah would accept the prayers of the faithful, bless their families and communities, protect Nigeria and guide its leaders with wisdom and courage.

He wished Muslims and all Nigerians a peaceful, joyful and spiritually rewarding Eid-ul-Mawlid celebration.
