The Cross River State Civil Service Commission has revealed that 1,169 persons outside the state applied for the ongoing 2024 employment recruitment exercise.
The Commission disclosed this on Thursday via the second interim report of the recruitment exercise.
According to the second-level analysis report, “Out of the total of 32,341 persons that applied for 500 positions in the main service, about 1,169 came from other States in the country, and as such, their applications are regarded as invalid entries.”
The report also had three tables which showed the breakdown of the applicants, based on their Local Government Areas of origin and job positions.

“Apart from giving the Commission an overview tool in processing the job applications, this analysis will surely serve as a database for the Commission’s engagement with other employers of labour, subsequently,” the report stated.
The Commission also said it will move into the final phase of the shortlisting next week and thereafter, schedule physical interview sessions of the shortlisted applicants, cadre by cadre.
“These sessions may span through two or three weeks, depending on the exigencies,” the report added.
