Mr Ohiemi expressed delight over the cooperation the FIRS has enjoyed from Prof. Florence Obi’s administration.

Following a special approval to visit Organisations and Businesses headed by women, the FIRS thought it wise to visit the University of Calabar.

In his words; “We choose the University of Calabar for this visit because of the cooperation we have enjoyed from both, the Vice Chancellor and the University Bursar.

We note with great pleasure that the University of Calabar has been remitting their taxes promptly without waiting for us to remind them.

“It is a commendable feat and we don’t want to take this for granted. So, our chairman has delegated us to thank you and give you a Letter of Commendation.”

The state Monitor also expressed the hope that the Letter of Commendation will spur the Vice Chancellor to continue in the light of her good work, even as he informed that every second Thursday of the month, the FIRS carries out routine exercises geared towards enlightening and sensitising taxpayers, to rub minds, as well as, educate them on necessary and relevant areas.
