How Didi and Luigi Mangione are Spending Christmas in Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center

New York, U.S. – Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and Luigi Mangione are spending Christmas Day in the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC), where inmates are reportedly served cornish hen and green beans during holiday meals.

Mangione, a 26-year-old Ivy League graduate accused of fatally shooting insurance CEO Brian Thompson in Midtown Manhattan earlier this month, is reportedly dealing with severe back pain.

He will wake up on a thin 1-2 inch mattress, according to reports from People. Whether he spends the day in isolation or with other inmates depends on his housing assignment within the facility.

Combs, the 55-year-old rapper and entrepreneur, has been incarcerated at the MDC since September on charges including conspiracy and sex trafficking.

His legal team has argued that the harsh conditions of the detention center hinder his ability to adequately prepare for his defense.

In September, his lawyers sought a transfer to a facility in New Jersey, though the request has yet to be granted.

High-profile inmates at the MDC, such as Combs, are permitted one-hour family visits on Christmas Day, during which they may hug visitors but are required to sit facing them.

The MDC, notorious for its conditions, has housed several prominent figures in the past, including Jeffrey Epstein, who died there in 2019 under circumstances later attributed to staff negligence.

Others who have spent time at the facility include R. Kelly and cryptocurrency fraudster Sam Bankman-Fried.
