Kano, Nigeria – Mohammed Diggol, Kano State Commissioner for the Ministry of Project Monitoring and Evaluation, has stepped down from his position.

The announcement was made in a statement issued on Sunday by Sanusi Dawakin Tofa, spokesperson to the Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf. The governor reportedly accepted the resignation, expressing gratitude for Mr Diggol’s service.

Initially appointed as Commissioner for Transportation in 2023, Mr Diggol was reassigned to the Ministry of Project Monitoring and Evaluation in December 2024 during a cabinet reshuffle.

“He was later reassigned to the Ministry of Project Monitoring and Evaluation, where he served until his resignation today,” the statement noted.

Governor Yusuf lauded Mr Diggol for his contributions, describing his tenure as marked by dedication and commitment. “Governor Yusuf expressed his gratitude to Engr. Diggol for his selfless service, unwavering commitment, dedication, and exemplary work ethic during his tenure as a member of the State Executive Council,” the statement read.

The governor wished the former commissioner success in his future endeavours as he transitions out of public office.
