Sowore arrives at police headquarters after being summoned

Former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore appeared at the Force Criminal Intelligence Department (FCID) in Abuja on Monday at 10 a.m., surrounded by a heavy security presence.

According to Premium Times, Armed police officers were deployed ahead of his scheduled appearance, as PREMIUM TIMES observed. Sowore had been summoned for questioning after posting a viral video in which he accused police officers at a checkpoint in Lagos of extortion.

According to an invitation letter dated January 23 from the FCID, Sowore is under investigation for several offences, including resisting and obstructing public officers, disobedience to lawful orders, and cyberstalking. The letter, signed by a senior police officer, directed Sowore to report for an interview with the Deputy Inspector General of Police at the Force Intelligence Department (FID) Complex in Abuja.
