A man has barricaded himself inside a woodworking shop in the village of Gonnoi, Thessaly, claiming to have killed two people.
The suspect, about 60 years old, reportedly called police, saying, “I’ve killed two people.” Authorities have found one body so far.
The man, who is said to be armed with a grenade, is holed up at the shop, and special police forces have been deployed to the scene.
Local media report that the suspect is known for his political activity with the far-right Golden Dawn party, with previous involvement as a candidate for parliament.
Gonnoi is located in northwestern Larissa, near the border between Thessaly and Central Macedonia. Authorities are negotiating with the suspect.
