Majority of beer brewers in Germany announce price hikes

By Frank Ulom

The prices of beer drinks in Nigeria will be going up following the decision taken by Nigerian Breweries Plc (NB).

According to a letter by NB with reference number: SD/LA09/26, the increase in beer prices will commence from August 10, 2023.

The letter which was signed by Ayo Lawal, NB Sales Director on Tuesday (August 1) and obtained by CONVERSEER, also said the review is on some of the stock-keeping units (SKUs).

The letter which was directed to all customers with the title: “PRICE REVIEW NOTIFICATION”, said customers will be buying at the old price until midnight before August 10.

“This is to inform you that we will review the prices of some of our SKUs effective Thursday 10th August 2023. This review has become necessary because of the continued rising input cost and the need to mitigate the impact.

“In appreciation of our great partnership and your commitment, we will deliver at current prices all open orders that are fully funded and created in our system before 00.00hr on Thursday 10th August, 2023”, the notification letter signed by Lawal read in part.

It added “While thanking you for your commitment to our great partnership, be rest assured that we will continue to support your sales/distribution efforts as always.

“For further clarifications, please do not hesitate to contact your Regional Business Manager.”

CONVERSEER reports that Nigerian Breweries Plc recorded N277 billion in revenue for the half-year that ended on June 30, 2023.
