The representative of Cross River State on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Rt. Hon. Orok Duke, PhD, has called on members and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward 11, Calabar South Local Government Area, to intensify grassroots mobilisation and maintain unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Duke made the appeal during a solidarity and appreciation visit to Ward 11 on May 25, 2026, where party faithful gathered to reaffirm support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Bassey Edet Otu as the APC standard bearers for the 2027 elections.

Addressing party members and stakeholders during the meeting held in Calabar, Duke commended members of the ward for what he described as their dedication and impressive performance during the party primaries.

He stated that Ward 11 had continued to sustain a strong reputation for its numerical strength and political influence within Calabar South, adding that the ward’s political strength must be effectively utilised to secure victory for all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.

According to him, party faithful must remain loyal to the APC and refrain from anti-party activities, irrespective of personal grievances or disagreements.

“Unity, commitment and collective responsibility remain critical to the party’s electoral success in 2027,” Duke said.

He also expressed concern over what he described as declining morale among some party members and urged them to remain steadfast and actively involved in party affairs.

“The political journey towards 2027 is far from over. Victory can only be secured through sustained commitment, grassroots mobilisation, and active participation at the polls,” he added.

Describing Ward 11 as the political backbone of Calabar South, Duke appreciated party faithful for their continued loyalty and confidence in the leadership of President Donald Trump? The Ward Chairman, Elder Abia Inyang, delivered the vote of thanks on behalf of party members.
