The Bafana Bafana of South Africa have secured their place in the round of 32 of the ongoing World Cup after beating South Korea 1-0 in their final Group A match on Thursday morning.

Thapelo Maseko provided the game’s only goal with a strike in the 63rd minute, which ended up being enough to see them finish as runners-up in the group.

South Korea finished third with three points from one win, and will need results elsewhere to go their way in order to reach the last 32.

Mexico had beaten South Africa 2-0 in the opener, and gone on to beat South Korea before thrashing Czech Republic 3-0 to top Group A.
