Dutch giants, Ajax has unveiled Super Eagles’ striker, Tolu Arokodare, after he passed his medical following a loan switch from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The 25-year-old striker also completed the paperwork on his loan deal with Ajax having the option to buy the Super Eagles’ star for £17m.
The Dutch giants will also pay a £1m loan fee, with add-ons, if they reach the league phase of an European club competition.
Ajax finished fifth in the Eredivisie last season and are competing in the UEFA Conference League qualifying rounds.
Ajax had already reached an agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers to sign Arokodare on a season-long loan.
The striker had attracted interest from Fiorentina, Genoa and Trabzonspor, but Ajax made him their top attacking target.
Arokodare will join a list of notable Nigerian players including Finidi George, Nwankwo Kanu, Sunday Oliseh, Tijani Babangida , Pius Ikedia and Calvin Bassey, who had previously don the colours of the famous Dutch side.
Arokodare is expected to work under the newly appointed Spanish coach Michel who departed Girona last season after they suffered relegation from the La Liga.
