AMD’s official website has recently officially launched Ryzen 7 8700F and Ryzen 5 8400F, two AM5 platform entry-level gaming computer processors without core graphics. These two processors are available worldwide and are not limited to the Chinese market.
Currently, boxed versions of these two processors are already on the shelves at PC-Canada and Slovenian retailer Funtech, and it seems they are not limited to the OEM market as previously rumoured.
Data shows that R5 8400F and R7 8700F may start at 199.90 euros and 309.90 euros in Europe.

R7 8700F (100-100001590BOX) (Canada): 752.99 Canadian dollars

R5 8400F (100-100001591BOX) (Canada): 481.99 Canadian dollars

R7 8700F (100-100001590BOX) (Slovenia): 309.90 euros

R5 8400F (100-100001591BOX) (Slovenia): 199.90 euros
It should be noted that the current prices of these two processors are illegal prices and will most likely be higher than AMD’s official recommended retail price. From the data point of view, the price given by Funtech is of great reference value, but Europe is a high-price area and will inevitably be more expensive than the National Bank.
For comparison, the R7 8700F on Funtech is priced at 309.90 euros, which is 5% cheaper than the R7 8700G’s 325.20 euros; the R5 8400F is priced at 199.90 euros, slightly more expensive than the R5 8500G with a radiator. We expect the final pricing of these two processors to be The price is about 5-10% lower than the “G” series processor with core display.

In terms of specifications, the two processors only use Zen 4 architecture, with a CCD area of 178mm² and a total of 20 PCIe 4.0 lanes (16 available), proving that they are both based on the Phoenix 1 chip. The parameters are as follows:
Specification | R7 8700F | R5 8400F |
core/thread | 8C16T | 6C12T |
Maximum acceleration frequency | 5.0GHz | 4.7GHz |
fundamental frequency | 4.1GHz | 4.2GHz |
L2 cache capacity | 8MB | 6MB |
L3 cache capacity | 16 MB | 16 MB |
Ryzen 7 8700F can be regarded as a coreless and downclocked version of the previously launched Ryzen 7 8700G processor. The latter has a maximum acceleration frequency of 5.1GHz and a basic frequency of 4.2GHz.
The Ryzen 5 8400F can be regarded as a non-core graphics downclocked version of the Ryzen 5 8600G. The latter has a maximum acceleration frequency of 5.0GHz and a basic frequency of 4.3GHz.
In addition, the Ryzen 7 8700F still has an NPU with a computing power of 16 TOPS and supports Ryzen AI when paired with a compatible AMD Radeon graphics card; while the Ryzen 5 8400F does not include an NPU.
