Andrew B. Raupp has spent over two decades shaping the future of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education.

Born and raised in Detroit, a city that has faced economic challenges and a significant loss of manufacturing jobs, Raupp’s upbringing instilled in him a sense of resilience, creativity, and resourcefulness. As a student at Divine Child High School from 1994 to 1998, Raupp excelled academically and developed a passion for learning that would later drive his professional career.

Raupp began his college studies at Wayne State University, where he initially focused on Microbiology from 1998 to 2000 before transferring to Henry Ford College. There, he earned two associate degrees by 2002, a testament to his commitment and drive. Raupp continued his educational journey at the University of Michigan–Dearborn, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 2006. During this time, his growing interest in education and STEM disciplines began to take shape.

Raupp continued his professional growth by participating in leadership programmes such as the Emerging Leaders Programme at Harvard Kennedy School in 2013 and the Education Policy Fellowship Programme at Michigan State University in 2017-2018. These experiences provided him with a deeper understanding of the complexities of education policy and reinforced his mission to improve STEM education for all students, regardless of their background or circumstances.

In 2001, Raupp founded STEM.org Educational Research, a pioneering organisation dedicated to advancing STEM education. Through innovative research, curriculum development, and teacher support, STEM.org has become a leader in the field, offering certifications and educational tools that empower both students and educators. What sets STEM.org apart is Raupp’s ethical approach to education. He has made a point of refusing funding from political groups, lobbyists, and corporations, ensuring that the organisation’s work remains independent and focused solely on the needs of educators and learners.
