The All Progressives Congress (APC) has marked the first anniversary of Professor Nentawe Yilwatda as its National Chairman, declaring that the ruling party has witnessed renewed unity, expanding nationwide support, and stronger internal cohesion under his leadership.

In a statement issued by the Chairman’s Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mallam Yusuf Abubakar Dingyadi, the party said the past year had seen the APC evolve into a more disciplined, inclusive, and people-centred political platform.

According to the statement, Yilwatda assumed office at a critical period in the party’s history and has since focused on strengthening internal democracy, fostering reconciliation among party stakeholders, and repositioning the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The APC said his leadership style, characterised by consultation, humility, and administrative discipline, has improved cooperation within the National Working Committee, party elders, and other stakeholders, resulting in greater unity across the party.

It added that one of the major achievements recorded during the period was the successful reconciliation of aggrieved members and the promotion of consensus-building across different tendencies within the APC.

The party also claimed that activities at its National Secretariat had become more professional, with greater emphasis on accountability, innovation, and efficient administration.

According to the statement, the APC has expanded its engagement with youths, women, persons with disabilities, and other groups, while strengthening party structures across wards, local governments, and states.

The ruling party further linked its growing acceptance to the implementation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, saying Nigerians were beginning to see the benefits of ongoing economic reforms through infrastructure projects and government interventions across the country.

While acknowledging that the reforms had imposed temporary hardships on citizens, the party maintained that the measures were necessary to stabilise the economy and avert a deeper national crisis.

Looking ahead to the 2027 general elections, Dingyadi expressed confidence that the APC would retain power, insisting that the foundation laid under Yilwatda’s leadership had positioned the party for another electoral victory.

The party urged Nigerians to sustain their support for the APC, describing it as a party committed to democratic values, national development, and inclusive governance.

He also reiterated that the party remained open to new members and pledged to continue strengthening its internal structures while working to deliver what it described as greater dividends of democracy to Nigerians.
