NEW YORK (CONVERSEER) – Apple is adjusting its smart glasses product roadmap, planning to release the first Apple Glass in 2026 and launch it in 2027, according to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman.
It will lack an AR display, but will be able to make calls, respond to Siri voice commands, and take photos, positioning it as a smart wearable accessory rather than a standalone device.
According to a report by South Korean media EBN on 12 December, these glasses are likely to use the same SiP (System-in-Package) chip as the Apple Watch, be equipped with multiple cameras, and have AI functions when connected to an iPhone.
For reference, Apple’s latest SiP chip is the S10, which features a dual-core CPU and an integrated quad-core NPU (Neural Engine). Although its performance cannot match that of contemporary A-series chips, it still reaches the level of older iPhone chips. Therefore, the Apple Watch is considered an ideal choice for Apple Glass.

Meanwhile, sources indicate that the biggest advantage of the S10 chip is its low power consumption, which significantly reduces power consumption while providing sufficient computing power, potentially enabling products to be used all day.
In terms of specifications, these glasses will maintain an extremely lightweight design, with the battery capacity expected to be kept below 800mAh. They are also expected to enable multi-camera image processing, wake up and control Siri and AI functions.
According to previous reports, Apple’s first smart glasses will have built-in speakers to support music playback, voice control, and may also integrate health monitoring functions.
