NPP bigwig, Chairman Wontumi, has rendered an unqualified apology to the first gentleman of Ghana, President Mahama, and his wife, Lordina Mahama.

The apology to the aforementioned people by Chairman Wontumi was made through the Chairman’s spokesman, Dr Boakye-Danquah, during an interview on Citi FM, monitored by GH PAGE.

Speaking in the interview, Dr Boakye-Danquah stated that the Ashanti Regional Chairman has regretted some utterances he made against the president and his wife before the 2024 general elections.

According to him, “The first call is to render an apology, and I think that is important. Former Chairman renders an apology to him if, at some stage, the conversations went overboard, which was never intended”.

He added that “Not at all. We are aware that in this country there are influences. If you can identify those influences and begin making amends, I think we build a better society for all of us to live in”.
