Eritrea: Northern Red Sea Region’s Festival Presentation Receives High Praise

ASMARA, Eritrea, July 24, 2026/APO Group/ —

The Northern Red Sea Region’s presentation at Eritrea Festival 2026, featuring cultural traditions, exhibitions, and marine and agricultural resources, is receiving high praise from visitors.

Mr. Suleiman Yusuf, Chairman of the Cultural Committee, said that 16 displays highlighting the cultural heritage and traditional music of the region’s ethnic groups are being presented.

Mr. Said Saleh, Chairman of the Exhibition Committee, noted that the displays feature the region’s marine and agricultural resources, tourism potential, wildlife and the historic buildings of Massawa.

Mr. Tekleweini Negasi, a member of the Oral Traditions Committee, said the programs include poetry and storytelling reflecting maritime activities, herding, farming and other traditional practices.

Committee members Mr. Jamal Nurahmed and Ms. Rayet Osman added that traditional houses and social customs of the Tigre, Afar, Saho and Rashaida ethnic groups are also being displayed.
