Northern Nigeria is known for its conflicts which have claimed immeasurable lives and in 2024, it seems like it is never going to end.
The conflicts range from terrorism, banditry, communal clash, settler and indigene crises, farmers and herders crises, ethnic and religious crises, among others.
In a post on social media (X) on Friday, 26 January 2024, Sen. Shehu Sani, former Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, listed seven categories of conflicts in Northern Nigeria.

Sani listed the conflicts to include:
1. Banditry
Affected States: Zamfara, Katsina, Sokoto, Kebbi, and Niger
2. Terrorism
Affected States: Yobe and Borno
3..Banditry and Terrorism
Affected States: Kaduna and Niger
4. Settler/Indigene
Affected States: Plateau, Nasarawa, Taraba, and Benue
5. Settler/Indigene/Terrorism
Affected States: Plateau, Kaduna and Nasarawa
6. Farmers/Herdsmen
Affected States: Benue, Plateau, Kaduna, Taraba, Nasarawa
7. Ethno-Religious
Affected States: Kaduna, Plateau, Nasarawa, Taraba, and Adamawa
For several years, these conflicts have continued under subsequent leaders.
