Bisi Alimi has shared his family’s journey from “hatred” to “acceptance” after they all joined him and his husband to celebrate his 50th birthday.
Bisi shared photos of his family members posing with him at his birthday party. His husband was also there and took photos with his family.
In the caption, Bisi explained that getting to this place of acceptance was a journey.
He stated that the journey was filled with “bitter words, hatred, tears, regrets and many times, anger.”
“But at one point in the silence of it all, love was heard,” he added.
“No, love was never silent, it was not just listened to and when she was heard, peace reign.”
Sharing a message of encouragement, he wrote: “These are the pictures of my family, with love, joy, pride and acceptance at my 50th birthday with my husband.
“There is something only time can buy and if it can happen for me, it can happen for you.”
