Google Lens video and voice search

Google published a blog post on Thursday, announcing the upgrade of its Google Lens service. Based on the existing photo and image search, it supports video search and voice input, unlocking a new way of asking questions in the AI era.

About Google Lens

Google Lens is an image recognition technology developed by Google that aims to provide relevant information by identifying objects in images. This technology can help users better understand the world around them and is very simple to use.

Show your results

In a blog post, Google first shared the achievements of Google Lens, saying that the number of visual searches worldwide is approaching 20 billion times per month, helping people search for what they see through the camera or screen.

Young users (18-24 years old) use it most frequently. The new feature makes it easier for users to search the world around them.

Unlock new ways

Google Lens adds video search and voice input to the existing image search:

Video comprehension capability: Users can record a video and ask questions, and Lens will generate an AI overview based on the video content and questions and provide relevant information.

Voice question function: After taking a photo with Lens, users can ask questions through voice, and English queries are currently supported.

Enhanced application scenarios

In a blog post, Google previewed the impact of AI features on users’ daily lives, helping users explore and discover a wider range of results on the web. Details are as follows:

Shopping feature updates: Lens now provides more useful shopping results pages that showcase key product facts, reviews, and price information to help users shop instantly.

Song Identification: Users can quickly search for songs they hear in social media videos, movies or websites, with the new “Circle to Search” feature now available on more than 150 million Android devices.

AI organises search results: Google has launched an AI-organised search results page, which allows users to explore related content more conveniently and improves the search experience.
